Our current research rates are $15 per hour for Woodford County Historical Society members and $20 per hour for non-members. Photocopying costs are extra: 10 cents per page for WCHS members and 20 cents per page for non-members; photocopies from microfilm are 30 cents per page for both members and non-members. Society membership is optional, but if you wish to join now, your member discount will apply to this research request. Click HERE for membership information.
A separate bill for photocopying costs and postage will be sent with your completed research. You may request a limit on photocopying costs (see below). There is a minimum one hour research fee, which applies whether or not material is found. If research will take more time than payment sent, the research done up to that point will be sent, along with an estimate as to how much more time the research will take.

The average time for replies is two to three weeks after we receive your request. Please send a typewritten or clear handwritten request with as many known names, dates, and places as possible in order to help us with your research request. Family charts are very helpful. The information you send will be kept in our family surname files for other researchers to use. If you have specific information you want us to find, please be clear about what you want us to search for.
If you only want ONE document, such as a marriage bond, will, deed, obituary, etc., which can be found in an index or abstract and therefore easily located on the microfilm, the fee is $10.00, which includes the look-up, photocopy, and mailing costs.
