Historic Preservation
Membership in the Woodford County Historical Society helps keep the genealogy library and museum in operation. The library and museum are dedicated to preserving Woodford County's rich history for future generations.
Education
Part of the mission of the Woodford County Historical Society is to educate the public about Woodford County's rich history. The Society meets on the fourth Thursday of each month, and each meeting features a guest speaker or other program on a topic concerning Woodford County history. These meetings are open to the public. Other educational opportunities include tours of our museum and speaking engagements presented by the curator and members to local civic organizations and elementary schools.
Quarterly Newsletter
The Woodford County Historical Society publishes a quarterly newsletter, "Woodford Heritage News," which is free to members. The newsletter keeps members up to date on what is happening at the Historical Society. It also contains interesting articles on Woodford County history, genealogy, personalities, historic preservation, cemeteries, and other topics of interest to Society members.
