FAYETTE COUNTY, KENTUCKY,
M
ARRIAGES THROUGH 1850
Compiled by Melvin Hurst
The original Fayette County marriage records before 1803 were lost due to fire. Fortunately, some of the ministers returns still exist, such as those of Rev. Adam Rankin, with some dated from 1796-1801, and Rev. Robert Marshall, with some dated from 1795-1801. Many of the lost records were also re-recorded after the fires, so various listings are found in later sources of the county records. This book contains marriage records for Fayette County from 1786 to 1850. Information includes groom's name, bride's name, bond date and marriage date. Listed alphabetically by groom's surname, complete bride index. 131 pages, softbound, comb binding (1999).

LEXINGTON CEMETERY: LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY
Recorded by William and Gwen Tippie
This publication records the tombstones in Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Kentucky. The book was made possible through the work done by Gwen and William Tippie, of Lexington, who recorded tombstones in the older sections of the Lexington Cemetery.  Approximately 10,000 graves, with death dates generally 1911 or earlier, are recorded in the book. Headstones with death dates after 1911 were not recorded because that is the date the state began systematically recording death certificates, and death dates after 1911 can be found in state records. The book includes the surname, first name, birth and death dates, section number, and additional remarks--if any--on the stones. A map of the cemetery sections is also included in the book. 184 pages, softbound, comb binding with vinyl overlay (2006).
Published by the Woodford County Historical Society, Versailles, Ky. ISBN 1-931092-48-6. $18.95
